Nate Bargatze is a standup comedian hailing from Tennessee, known for his mild drawl, relaxed humor about ordinary life. Prior to his career in comedy, he was a water-meter reader when he and a co-worker decided to quit their jobs, move to Chicago to take up a career in comedy. Bargatze’s stint in the Windy City was brief, but it provided the clarity that what he really wanted to pursue was standup comedy. He relocated to New York City and was eventually booked on Late Night with Conan O’Brian in 2008 and 2009. He continued on to win the New York Comedy Festival and Boston Comedy Festival the following year and picked up his own Comedy Central Presents special in 2011. Bargatze’s debut standup album (2012) Yelled at by a Clown, reached number two on the Billboard Comedy Album charts.
